Good morning Dr. Budi Suryono, please tell us a little bit about yourself.
I was born in Malaysia. I graduated from the National University of Malaysia in 1975 and met my future wife Devi there. She worked as an orthopedic surgeon until 2009.
What happened in 2009 and why did you leave your job?
In 2007, Devi was diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the knee. It was a turning point in our lives, and at the time it seemed like a terrible ordeal. Over the next 2 years she tried everything: physical treatments, gels, balms, even stopped exercising and taking various vitamins and supplements. It was all in vain. Nothing helped, and we were both completely hopeless. I couldn't believe that I couldn't help my wife, even with my medical knowledge. Our health care system had failed me so badly that I wanted to know if there was a way to ensure a long and happy life for the loved ones in my life. I started doing some research.
What kind of research are you talking about, and can you explain a little more?
When you realize that in a few years your wife won't be able to walk, you want to do everything you can to prevent it. I study all the material regarding joint disease that is directly or indirectly related to physiology, psychosomatics, and biochemistry. I have spent almost all of my money to uncover the secrets of Asia's top experts in this field, who no doubt understand the problems of joint disease patients far better than we do.
